Monaco is a sovereign city-state. It is located on the French Riviera and has only 38,000 citizens. \u00a0It is bordered by France on 3 sides and the remaining side is on the Mediterranean Sea. \u00a0This place should be on your list of places to see, but once is probably enough. \u00a0It is truly a spectacle to see, much like Las Vegas in the United States. \u00a0The display of wealth and the conspicuous consumption is at the same time both amazing and appalling. \u00a0It seems that at least every 4 out of 5 cars cost more than an average home in any first world country. \u00a0Monaco has no personal income or wealth taxes. Generally, there are no property taxes either. \u00a0This might explain in part why so many wealthy people (including Steve Wynn) call this place home. \u00a0So it comes as no surprise that with all this money sloshing around, Monaco has built up a healthy financial sector, which accounts for roughly 17% of its economy. \u00a0The entire country of Monaco occupies only 3 quarters of 1 square mile. \u00a0 It is defended by France.<\/p>\n

Just another Ferrari on the streets. \u00a0This had crazy gold leaf accents all over it. \u00a0Seems a sacrilege to bastardize a Ferrari like this, but I guess the thought is that the gold accent really differentiates it from the thousands of other Ferraris out there.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

These two were really enjoying their gelato until law enforcement asked them to NOT sit on the grass. I could have warned them after the scolding I experienced after sitting on the curb.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Check out Roger Federer who was here for the week playing tennis. \u00a0He really needs to work on his left arm. \u00a0It doesn’t look like it even belongs to him. \u00a0Maria Sharapova has more muscle than this.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Changing of the guard. \u00a0Talk about a low stress job. \u00a0This is all these guys have to do. \u00a0Monaco is its own country, however France defends it, if and when necessary. \u00a0So all these guys have to do is look well pressed and never smile. \u00a0They belong to the same union as the guys that guard the Vatican.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

As if I didn’t see enough ridiculously expensive vehicles on the street, I went to the supercar show in town for the weekend. \u00a0Absolutely crazy.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Just look at this composition. \u00a0The 1965 427 AC Shelby Cobra and the lovely calla lilies. \u00a0This car was perfect both inside and out. \u00a0Only 150 were produced that year. \u00a0These can range in value from $750K to $1.5MM.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This was outside the autoshow. \u00a0Right outta James Bond. \u00a0It is called the “Kormaran.” Just Google it. \u00a0Truly amazing watercraft. \u00a0It morphs into six configurations with the push of a button. \u00a0The goal of its designer was to combine the experience of driving a cabriolet-style super sports car with the precise construction techniques used in the aviation industry. \u00a0At top speed this $1.5MM base model Kormaran will run at 50MPH. All engines (including its hydrofoil engine) may be upgraded to 900HP. \u00a0As with any high end watercraft, a myriad of other upgrades are available. \u00a0These could drive the price to well above $3MM. \u00a0Happy boating.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
