{"id":378,"date":"2015-10-11T17:37:31","date_gmt":"2015-10-11T23:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.earthlylocomotion.com\/?p=378"},"modified":"2015-10-11T17:38:44","modified_gmt":"2015-10-11T23:38:44","slug":"road-trip-through-utah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.earthlylocomotion.com\/?p=378","title":{"rendered":"Road trip through Utah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nothing like a good old road trip to begin the Autumn season in the Northern hemisphere. \u00a0I begin in Colorado and drive west. \u00a0First stop is Moab, Utah. \u00a0This spot was picked so that I can visit the first two of the National Parks I plan to see. \u00a0I book into a lodge that I was referred to. \u00a0It is called the Red Cliffs Lodge and Ranch. \u00a0Very picturesque and located about 14 miles from Moab, but right on the banks of the Colorado River. \u00a0Great place to stay. \u00a0The cabins are right on the river. \u00a0Must be even better when the Colorado is really flowing.<\/p>\n<p>Interesting to note that well over 150 motion pictures have been at least in part filmed here. \u00a0Mostly westerns as you would imagine. \u00a0However, other films including Thelma &amp; Comfortable, great capacity as rear seats fold down to render it a large hatchback, fuel efficient considering the incredible performance (28 MPG highway) and killer range with its 26.6 gallon tank.
